MTC Bios new 5mL MacroTubes® scale up the conveniences of standard 1.5mL tubes for larger volumes. These polypropylene tubes come with an attached cap that provides a tight, leak proof seal, and can also be opened (or closed) with one hand. The cap is designed to provide a secure seal from -86°C to +80°C.
They have the same diameter as standard 15mL tubes for compatibility with centrifuge rotors, etc. In many applications, they have replaced 15mL tubes, reducing plastic waste, storage space and shipping costs. Contamination of pipettor shafts can be eliminated because the tube length is short enough for standard 1mL and/or 5mL tips to reach the tube's conical bottom.

Southern Labwares new 5mL MacroTube" family takes all of the conveniences of 1.5mL tubes and scales them up for larger volumes and throughput applications. In many cases, they replace 15mL tubes, dramatically reducing plastic waste, storage space and shipping costs. Additionally, the 56mm length (vs. 120mm for 15mL tubes) greatly reduces the risk of contamination of pipettor shafts, allowing 1mL or 5mL tips to easily reach the tube bottom.
The tubes are made of high clarity, low-binding, virgin polypropylene and are certified RNase and DNase free. The 16mm diameter is identical to standard 15mL tubes, ensuring compatibility with existing centrifuge rotors. Other equipment, specially designed for 5mL tubes, is available from Benchmark" (USA) and German-based equipment manufacturers (eg. dry blocks, tube racks, and thermal shakers/vortexers).
Screw Cap Tubes are supplied with 20mm (OD) caps that seal smoothly and completely with a single 360° turn. Useable from -86°C to 110°C, they are a valuable vessel for boiling and low temperature sample preservation. Choose from non-sterile bulk packaging or, similar to 15mL tubes (but requiring 60% less storage space), rack packaging (upright in foam racks with caps attached).

Polycarbonate ultra-low temperature cryogenic boxes are designed to hold 1.2mL to 2.0mL cryogenic storage vials. The standard 5 1/4" X 5 1/4" x 2" are compatible with all 5.25" freezer racks. These cryo storage boxes can withstand temperatures to -196C and are fully autoclavable. The innovative hinged lid stays attached to the box and will never get misplaced or attached to the wrong box. Each box comes with alpha-numeric markings as well as a permanently screened unique barcode.
